Facility / Accommodation Information

Do it your way at Camp Footsteps!

All campers can choose between two lodging options:

    • Outdoor Tenting (you have indoor bathroom and shower access)
    • Indoor Bunking (in a shared bunkhouse with a group of fellow Footsteppers)

Additionally, attendees can attend for one night, both nights, or only during the daytime.

There will be options for family housing and couples housing in bunkhouses.

Tents and bed linens will not be provided by Kutz Camp. Please bring these items to camp with you for the weekend.  Footsteps has a limited number of tents that can be rented at no cost by members. Please email Sarah Silverstein at [email protected] for more information on reserving a tent.

Footsteps can accommodate a maximum of 160 people at the campsite.

Food:

Kutz Camp runs an unhechshered kosher-style kitchen. The regular option will follow their standard catering. They offer accommodations for a variety of dietary restrictions. Footsteps will provide lunch and dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.  Accommodations are available for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free,and dairy-free eaters. And as always, we will have plenty of snacks on hand!

For those interested in hechshered food, meals will be catered by local trusted vendors. To inquire further, Sarah Silverstein at [email protected].

Children and Child Care:

Camp Footsteps aspires to be family-friendly! The camp has fun activities that parents and kids can partake in on-site including paddle boating, arts and crafts, and the ropes course. This year we will be running camp-style kids’ programming for children between the ages of 6 through 13 over the course of the weekend. There will also be designated hours where babysitting for children ages five and below will be available.

During off times parents are responsible for caring for their own child(ren). We also encourage parents to organize group activities together, and we can help support those activities.  If you want to help with kids and family programming, email Sarah at: [email protected].

Price:

At Kutz Camp, the cost to Footsteps for each participant is $200. This accounts for lodging, activities, and fully catered meals. We understand that this cost is very high for the vast majority of our membership so we are subsidizing the cost per ticket down to $85 per participant.

As always, cost should not be a barrier to participation. To ensure that all Footsteps events are accessible to our membership, we’ve instituted a pay-what-you-can model that you will find on the Payment section of the registration form. There, you will be asked to select the amount you can afford to pay. You can then choose to pay with credit card in advance, or by cash or check when you get to camp.

And here’s something new! All Footsteps Members who have never previously attended a camping trip with Footsteps are eligible for a one-time Camp Footsteps fee waiver. This means that any and all Footsteps Members who have not attended a Footsteps camping trip are entitled to come for free. Be sure to select ‘œfirst-time camper Footsteps Member Fee Waiver’ on your registration form.

Donations to the Footsteps Camping Fund:

Footsteps does not want price to be a barrier for ANYONE. If you are able to contribute a little extra toward the cost of a full price Camp Footsteps ticket, we encourage you to do so. Every gift to the Footsteps Camping Fund makes this extraordinary community event possible. Please look for the option to give on the registration form. Those who contribute to the Footsteps Camping Fund, will receive a receipt stating that your donation is tax-deductible.

Transportation:

URJ Kutz Camp is located at 46 Bowen Road, in Warwick, New York. Carpooling is encouraged for those who are driving and free parking is available! We will be sending out a Google Doc with contact and travel information for those who indicated that they can provide rides for others. For those looking for transportation, this document will help you get in touch with those who are offering rides. If you are available to drive others, please indicate this on your registration form.

There is also an option to take public transportation. Hop on a New Jersey Transit (NJT) bus from Port Authority NYC for a direct ride to Warwick Park & Ride. This round-trip bus ticket from Port Authority costs $30. Footsteps will arrange pickups from the Warwick Park & Ride.
